14th National Convention of the Caribbean Netherlands.

The Worldwide Missionary Movement in the Caribbean Netherlands held its 14th National Convention from July the 13th to the 16th, under the theme, “The Value of Responsibility in Our Commitments and Obligations.” This glorious convention featured the attendance of the International Board Members: Rev. Rómulo Vergara, from Venezuela; and Rev. Álvaro Enrique Garavito, from Guatemala. Delegations from Suriname, English Guiana, French Guiana, Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, Guatemala, Venezuela, and Holland attended this important event. During the different services, members of the different local churches, leaders, and pastors rejoiced by singing spiritual songs to God and listening to His glorious Word. This activity was also the perfect opportunity to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the evangelistic and missionary work performed by God through Ps Clemente Vergara and his beloved wife, Sis Gladys de Vergara. The Work of God in Curacao started in 1980, when the Family Ferrerira came to this island, together with the Supervisor of Venezuela, Ps Leonardo Anzola. Two years later, the Family Vergara arrived in Curacao with the commission to keep on laboring not only in this island but also in Aruba, the Caribbean Netherlands, and English and French Guianas. While the work in the Caribbean was being performed, God dealt with Ps Vergara concerning the need of planting churches in Europe and Africa. In April 1983, Ps Clemente traveled to Holland to plant a WMM church. On December the 24th, 1983, he traveled to Equatorial Guinea in Africa and God used him to establish a church over there. Not much time later, Ps Clemente suffered from some serious sicknesses such as: malaria, dysentery, and Filariasis. After being persecuted and imprisoned a couple of times, and because of the sicknesses he was suffering, in 1986 he had to leave Africa but wonderful fruits were produced and this labor has remained up to now. Despite a lot of big spiritual and physical battles in the Caribbean and Africa, the Vergara family and the church in the Caribbean Netherlands have been greatly used by God to do his missionary work in several countries. “This has been the result of a join effort spiritually and economically speaking, thanks to the missionary burden The Lord has put in all our hearts,” said Ps Vergara.

This has been the result of a join effort spiritually and economically speaking, thanks to the missionary burden The Lord has put in all our hearts,” said Ps Vergara.
